The CPD programme has been developed to assess the competence of those performing diagnostic laboratory testing in NZ. The programme is available to Registered Medical Laboratory Scientists, Scientific Officers and Technicians and recognises laboratory competencies and ongoing education using a points system for such activities. Participants are required to accumulate approx. 100 points per year, however there is a requirement of a minimum of 300 points over a three year period. Satisfactory performance in a recertification programme (eg. NZIMLS CPD) is now a requirement of the annual practising certificate (APC) required to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in NZ. The CPD programme is one of three NZ Medical Laboratory Science Board approved recertification programmes available in NZ.
To join, participants must first complete the enrolment form and submit it to the Office of the NZIMLS. If you have any queries about your eligibility to join the programme, or require more information about the programme, please contact Jillian Broadbent (pictured).
