The CPD programme has been developed by the NZIMLS to assess the competence of practicing Medical Laboratory Scientists and Scientific Officers in NZ. The programme is available to all Registered Medical Laboratory Scientists, Scientific Officers and Technicians and recognises laboratory competencies and ongoing education using a points system for set activities. Participants should aim to accumulate 100 (or more) points per year, with a minimum of 300 points required over a three year period. Satisfactory performance in the CPD programme is a requirement of the annual licence to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in NZ. The NZIMLS CPD programme is one of three NZ Medical Laboratory Science Board approved recertification programmes available in NZ.

To join the programme participants must first complete the CPD enrolment form and submit it to the Office of the NZIMLS. If you have any queries about your eligibility to join the programme, or require more information about the programme, please contact Jillian Broadbent (pictured).
