The NZIMLS offers the Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate (QMLT) and the Qualified Specimen Services Technician Certificate examinations yearly. The QMLT is offered in the following medical laboratory science discipline/subject areas:

  • Biochemistry
  • Cytogenetics
  • Donor Technician
  • Haematology
  • Histological Technique
  • Immunology
  • Cytology
  • Microbiology
  • Mortuary Hygiene and Technique
  • Phlebotomy
  • Transfusion Science
  • Transfusion Science - blood products
  • Virology
  • Specimen Services - QSST

ALL QMLT (INCLUDING PHLEBOTOMY) AND QSST EXAMINATIONS WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 7th NOVEMBER 2012

NB: Not all of the subjects listed may be offered in each year. Please check with the NZIMLS executive office

Applications for all NZIMLS examinations must be in the hands of the NZIMLS on or before the closing date of 20th May 2012.  Please complete the examination application and the NZIMLS Membership Application forms (above) and return together with the examination fee to:
