About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are looking for either a Trainee or Medical Laboratory Technician for our Specimen Reception team. This is casual role.
Your key tasks will be:
Receiving and preparing samples, barcoding, performing data entry of patients and test details and answering phones.
This is a hands-on role in the laboratory environment where you will work collaboratively as part of the team, work well under pressure, and have an eye for detail and problem-solving ability.

The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
A sound knowledge of medical terminology, and laboratory operations including safety, operations of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable, but not essential.
Must be a team player with initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Registration with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand and hold an annual practising certificate is desirable, but not essential.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
