Permanent Full-time Opportunity


We are currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Core Laboratory at Pathlab Bay of Plenty, based in Tauranga.

About the role |Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga 


This is a full-time permanent opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our progressive Core Laboratory department, based at our Tauranga hospital site. You will use a high level of technical competency and skill through practical experience and personal initiative to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the laboratory.


This is a great opportunity to be part of an experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art medical laboratory.


About you | He kōrero mōu 


You will demonstrate knowledge, expertise, and skill in the delivery of scientific judgement within the various disciplines of Biochemistry, Haematology, and Blood bank departments. Your ability to show initiative and work well with others will see you transition seamlessly into our team.

Our ideal candidates will be able to clearly demonstrate:


Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent. 

A background in either Biochemistry, Haematology, or Blood bank would be an advantage.

Experience in a medical laboratory. 

Sound knowledge across multiple disciplines.

Ability to show initiative and work well as part of a team.

Enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

A good understanding of IANZ requirements.

Registration with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand and holding a current annual practicing certificate.
