Core Lab – Pathlab Rotorua
About the role |Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga
We are seeking to recruit a Medical Laboratory Technician or Trainee Technician to join our core laboratory team based at Rotorua Hospital.
The laboratory services the hospital and community, processing tests in the fields of haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and transfusion medicine. Staff rotate through all disciplines, making this an excellent opportunity to build on prior experience in any of these fields.
This is a full-time (80 hours per fortnight) permanent position. Once you are fully trained, the role includes full participation in the shift roster for this 24/7 laboratory.

Ideally, you will be a Medical Laboratory Technician with experience in a core laboratory and registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. However, if you have a tertiary science qualification and an interest in working within a medical laboratory environment; have a good eye for detail, and a positive attitude, we would love to hear from you.
You must have the ability to build sound technical knowledge of assigned processes and accurately absorb and follow technical instructions. You will be working in a team setting, contributing to both your team and the organisation's success.
