About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity within our Waikato Blood Bank for an experienced, registered Medical Laboratory Scientist looking to develop further in a leadership role.
In this role you will work with the Team Leader and one other Supervising Scientist within the team, to enhance the technical and scientific aspects of the work performed in the laboratory by supervising and coordinating the work to ensure all processes and procedures comply with GMP, GLP and the relevant SOP's.
This is a pivot role within the team, and will provide improved supervision of daily operations, particularly in the Dispensing, Tissue Bank, and Cellular Therapy areas, while also coaching others and offering critical support and coverage for core functions as needed.
Salary starting from $117,420 - $122,570 depending on skills and experience.

The successful applicant will be required to work as part of the team, performing duties associated with all processes and procedures undertaken in the laboratory. This is an oversight role and will require you to work a combination of all shifts to meet the needs of the laboratory.
To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years' experience in Blood Bank as well as experience in Tissue Banking, Cellular Therapy, and Equipment Management.
You will respect and value others in order to be able to successfully consult, train and provide positive constructive feedback to members of the team.
