About the role


Medical Laboratory Scientists within the Blood Bank are responsible for performing a range of duties related to pre transfusion, antenatal and diagnostic testing and the issue of blood and blood products for clinical purposes. 


As well as having the exciting and dynamic environment usually evident in a Blood bank, additionally we also run a tissue bank and support community patients by dispensing blood products, providing variation in day-to-day tasks.


This role is a full-time position with 80 hours per fortnight, fully participating in our 24/7 roster including on-call duties as rostered.


Your base salary will be between $71,070 and $107,600 depending on skills, experience and registration.


About you


To be successful in this role you must be registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ, or you will be seeking to complete your intern requirements before registration with MSCNZ. Ideally you will have experience working within a Blood Bank, Transfusion Science or related discipline, however this is not essential as fully training provided.
