About the role


Based in our Histology Dissection Team at Mount Wellington, this is a great opportunity for a Pathologist Assistant or experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our proficient Scientific and Technical team.


This role requires the following


Advanced tissue dissection skills, along with theoretical and practical knowledge of human anatomy and pathology

Working closely with consultant pathologists

Familiarity with Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) dissection protocols

About the Team/Service/Location


Anatomic Pathology Service (APS) is an IANZ-accredited medical laboratory and part of Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand and Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide a wide range of anatomical pathology specialist diagnostic histology and cytology services to the Auckland region and beyond, processing specimens from over 4,000 private specialists, surgical hospitals, and general practitioners. Our Consultant Pathologists collaborate closely with our experienced team of pathologist assistants, scientists, and technicians to deliver high-quality and timely results for patients and clinicians.

About you


As the ideal candidate, you will:


Be currently registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (www.mscouncil.org.nz) or be eligible to do so at the point of application

Have experience in dissection/cut-up (essential), with certified competency in advanced tissue dissection (desirable)

Be committed to quality, accuracy, and patient outcomes

Have strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-focused approach.
