About the role
This is a great opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Technician to learn new skills by joining our Component Processing Laboratory who are responsible for a range of duties including processing of blood and blood products, quality and process control procedures.
If successful, you will be trained to:
Manufacture pooled platelets from buffy coats
Manufacture cryoprecipitate from plasma
Manufacture resuspended red cell, buffy coats and plasma from whole blood
Perform quality control testing on the products we manufacture such as bacterial testing.
You will be joining a well-established team of Scientists and Technicians committed to quality service, high standards and patient wellbeing.
Your base salary will be between $67,488 to $88,887 depending on skills, experience and registration.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
Be Registered with the Medical Sciences Council as a Medical Laboratory Technician
Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
Have the ability to achieve the targets and objectives of the service.
Have a positive attitude
Have the ability to work as part of a close-knit team
Be flexible to fully participate in our roster that also includes evening and weekend work.
Experience in a Component Processing Laboratory or other medical laboratory is advantageous but not essential.
