Permanent, Part-Time, 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)

About the Role
Part of Canterbury Health Laboratories and based on the campus of Christchurch Hospital, the Anatomical Pathology Department is made up of a team of Medical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Pathologist Assistants, Pathologists, Registrars and administrative staff.
To be successful in joining our Histology team, you will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team as well as independently. In addition, you will be organised and efficient with effective time management and communication skills.
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for
Working with the Section Head to ensure the laboratory provides appropriate support to clinical services with the provision of reliable and timely test results
Providing technical and scientific support
Providing high-quality service to clients
Carrying out techniques according to laboratory protocol
About you
Skills and experience:
Hold a relevant graduate and/or post-graduate qualification
Be registered (or eligible for registration) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council
Experience working in a Histology laboratory, including special stains and immunohistochemistry (desirable)
Working at Health New Zealand
